SWI Roxburghshire Federation Show
The event is held every 2 years and is a showcase for everything members partake in from crafts, baking, cooking, sweet making, jam and chutney making as well as photography. Its a great shop window for a well known organisation that is celebrating its 100th anniversary during 2017. Hence our theme for the group competition is 100 years - "Celebrations". This is where the Federation is split into 4 groups who then compete against each other by making and displaying 5 articles within a given set space on the theme.
Friday 10 November 2017 to Saturday 11 November 2017
Entries have just closed and we are up 120 individual entries from 2015. We have 930 entries over 66 classes from members in 26 Institutes throughout Roxburghshire. These will be staged and judged on Friday 10th November and the show is then open to members and the general public that evening from 7-9pm. The show is also open from 10am - 4pm on Saturday 11th November and both members and the general public from all over the Borders are most welcome. Entry fee on both occasions is £3 and will include tea/coffee and scones/traybakes. There will also be a raffle.
The event is also a chance to do some Christmas shopping as we are having craft stalls from various organisations. All prize winners will be presented with their trophies from 2pm on Saturday afternoon and this year our guest is Mrs. Margaret Lamont, a rural lady through and through and also the proud grandmother of our local MP John Lamont.
